Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today's session is an important one for the Nifty and the broader markets. Today is the weekly options expiry of the Nifty 50 contracts. The index is heading into this session on the back of five straight days of gains, a first in two months.

The bigger takeaway is the fact that the index managed to close above the 25,000 mark after making multiple failed attempts to do so over the last month. The Nifty crossed 25,000 and sustained above it on Wednesday but has found resistance at 25,100, which is now the next level on the upside on the index.

Experts believe that as long as the Nifty preserves the 20-DMA between 24,750 - 24,800 levels, the uptrend remains intact. Broader markets have continued their outperformance, with stocks like Ola Electric, Protean eGov Technologies, among others, seeing outsized gains on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether these stocks see any follow-up buying today.

Also watch for India Cements, as promoter UltraTech will sell its excess 6.49% stake through an OFS to comply with minimum shareholding norms. Other stocks in focus include Vedanta, Zee Entertainment, Jupiter Wagons, RailTel and others.
