Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty 50 index opens above 22,500 on Wednesday. As many as 29 index stocks are in the red, while 21 advance. Infosys (-3.11%), Wipro (-1.75%) and TCS (-1.17%) are the top index losers. On the other hand, Tata Motors (2.13%), Bharti Airtel (1.58%) and HDFC Bank (1.19%) are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian stock market opens in the green on Wednesday. Nifty 50 opens above 22,500, while Sensex gains over 150 points to open at 74,270. However, a few minutes in the trade, Nifty 50 slides below 22,500. IT stocks are trading lower, with Infosys falling more than 3%. Kaynes Tech falls 9% on managing director receiving show-cause notice from SEBI.
Indices ended mixed on Tuesday, with the Nifty index recovering from early losses to close near the day's highs, while financial stocks, particularly IndusInd Bank, underperformed due to accounting-related concerns.
The sell-off in US equities continued on Tuesday. The Dow Jones fell nearly 500 points on Tuesday, taking the two-day drop to 1,400 points. The S&P 500 fell 0.8%, while the Nasdaq was an outperformer by not falling as much, ending 0.2% lower.
