 Nifty continues to remain around the 25,000 mark; PB Fintech shares down 3%

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets opened on a cautious note on Monday. The Nifty 50 index opened at 25,005.35. The index opened for trade 1,272 points behind its all-time high.

The Sensex index also opened relatively flat at 82,354.92.

A new week begins for Dalal Street with major developments over the weekend, including a credit rating downgrade of the US by Moody's, which has sent the futures of the Dow Jones and other indices lower and gold prices higher. However, the GIFT Nifty, an early indicator of how Indian equities are likely to begin trading, is indicating a quiet start so far for our own markets. After a breath-taking rally on Thursday, which took the Nifty past the 25,000 mark, the index consolidated during Friday's trading session and despite ending in the red, it managed to hold on to the 25,000 mark. Defence stocks continue to remain in focus after a record move last week and also due to multiple companies having reported results after market hours.
