Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty 50 index is trading 1.18% or 270.8 points higher at 23,178.4. As many as 47 index stocks are in the green, while three decline. Baring IndusInd Bank (-1.06%), Bajaj Finance (-0.83%) and Ultratech Cement (-0.29%) are the top losers. On the other hand, Titan (3.60%), Bharti Airtel (3.59%) and Bajaj Auto (2.91%) are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The equity benchmarks extended gains on Thursday. Sensex opened with gains of more than 450 points, while Nifty 50 opened above the 23,000 mark for the first time since February 19.
IT stocks edged higher, with Mphasis rising close to 3%, while Wipro gained 2%. The shares of Garden Reach extended gains after yesterday's 20% jump on the signing of a new MoU. The shares of Polycab and Havells fell over 4% each as competition worries heightened on Adani Group's foray into cables and wires. NCC shares rose more than 5% on ₹2,129.6 crore contract win.
The Federal Reserve, on Wednesday, maintained its forecast of two rate cuts in 2025.
