Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are under pressure on this monthly expiry day, with the Nifty falling nearly 100 points, stumbling below 23,900. The Nifty Bank is largely flat with a positive bias and is moving around 57,750. Eicher Motors, Tata Consumer and Infosys are top losers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty bulls would want to end the June series on a high, even as the index remains confined to a 400-point range of 23,800 on the downside and 24,200-24,250 on the higher end. Along with expiry, today is also the final day of the June quarter.
Even as supply emerges close to the 24,000 mark, the index is managing to hold on to levels of 23,900 - 23,850 on the downside, which will remain key support levels today as well. Today's moves though, could well be determined by banking stocks - HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Bandhan Bank, and Yes Bank.
While the first three have seen management churn, Yes Bank has approved a fund raise. The Nifty Bank was an underperformer on Tuesday, having declined over 400 points, but maintained the 57,500 - 58,500 range as well.
Beyond the banking names, Pharma's outperformance will be in focus, so will be stocks like RITES, CONCOR, Sterling & Wilson, SJVN among others.
