Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates:  The GIFT Nifty trading low suggests a muted start to the Nifty index today.

The Nifty walks into the final trading session of the week, having gained 200 points over the last two trading sessions. However, crossing that 24,900 - 25,000 continues to remain a challenge for the index, and the bulls have now pinned their hopes on today's rate decision by the Reserve Bank of India to aid this breakout. The street has priced in a 25 bps rate cut by the central bank. However, a cut greater than 25 basis points and any upward revisions to growth and downward revisions to inflation forecasts would be viewed positively by the market. The majority of CNBC-TV18's Citizen's MPC expects a 25 basis point rate cut. Policy today means rate-sensitive sectors like Banks, Real Estate and Autos will be in the spotlight. The Nifty Realty Index has already surged 5% this week ahead of the policy decision. The handover from Wall Street is disappointing, as an ugly spat between US President Donald Trump and Tesla chief Elon Musk overshadowed the call that took place between President Trump and President Xi of China earlier in the day.
