Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian equity markets are holding steady near the 22,500 mark at the halfway point of Friday’s session.
The Nifty is trying to protect its weekly position on the last trading day of the week. Earlier on Thursday, a sell-off wiped out more than ₹10 lakh crore of investor wealth. The Nifty touched a fresh 2026 low of 22,181.
The Nifty IT index was the best-performing sectoral index. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the sector bellwether, rose as much as 5% in intraday trade. IT stocks gained on several developments, including news on H-1B visas, OpenAI disclosures and, most importantly, TCS’s quarterly results.
Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, moved in a narrow range of $102 to $103 a barrel.
Anand Rathi Wealth, Can Fin Homes, Poonawalla Fincorp, Canara HSBC Life and Waterways Leisure Tourism are among the companies reporting quarterly results today.
