Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Tuesday has historically been a volatile day for the markets in the recent past courtesy of the weekly expiry of the Sensex contracts. The Nifty heads into Tuesday's session on the back of a four-day winning streak, carried forward by a strong RBI policy, that has powered the Nifty Bank to new highs and has taken the Nifty past its consolidation range of 24,500 - 25,000.

The index extended its gains on Tuesday and closed at the highest level of the year. While banks and IT continue to power the Nifty ahead, there is plenty of action within the broader markets in specific stocks.

On the global front, the street still awaits further clarity on what transpired between trade representatives of the US and China as they met for Day 1 of their talks in London. They'll reconvene again on Tuesday at 10 AM London time, and as a result, Wall Street ended at the flat line overnight.

Block deals continue back home with Premier Energies in the spotlight today, along with names like ITD Cementation on the back of order wins. Infra names like Vishnu Prakash R Punglia will also be in focus on account of a credit rating downgrade.
