Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are having another jittery day of trade; the Nifty index is below the 25,500 mark. Pharma stocks remain in focus, as Nifty Media exhibited some resistance, with gains of uner a percent.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Once again, the Indian markets have started on a cautious note. The Nifty index declined, dipping below the 25,500 mark. Meanwhile, the Sensex also suffered a decline of 100 points in its value.
The broader markets are all trading with minimal movements. The mid-cap and small-cap indices are trading with a marginal change from yesterday's closing. However, the Nifty Media sectoral index is up 0.50%.
Furthermore, the pharma stocks are in focus. FMCG stocks are also on the minds of investors. Meanwhile, Union Bank shares declined by 4% after the PSB announced its business updates for Q1 of FY25. Phoenix Mills also declined by over 3%.
This comes at a time when, as the country awaited the fine print of a potential trade deal with the US, it now has to contend with an additional tariff threat. US President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to impose an additional 10% tariff on BRICS countries.
