Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: A fourth day of higher-highs and higher-lows meant that the support shifts higher to 24,950 levels on the downside. Infosys announced a buyback and it remains to be seen whether the stock finds more momentum or the "sell the news" theme plays out here, which will also have a bearing on other IT stocks.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty continues to grind higher. The seven-day winning run has resulted in the index gaining over 400 points. It is also poised for a second straight weekly advance, and needs a close above 24,741 to register another positive close for the week.
The index traded in a 90-point range on Thursday, consolidating in a very narrow band, as did most of the other indices. There are positive developments on the US-India trade talks front, but nothing concrete yet.
For the Nifty, the post PM Modi Independence Day speech high of 25,154, which becomes the recent swing high, is a major level on the upside for the index.
