Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty was up about 90 points, inching closer to the 25,150 mark. The Sensex index is up over 230 points, with the 30-stock index pulling itself towards the 82,000 mark.Dr Reddy, Tata Steel, HCLTech, JSW Steel, Sun Pharma and Adani Enterprises are among the major gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets are trading on a cautious note, as the Nifty index is up about 90 points. The index is now trading just around the 25,150 mark. So far this week, the Nifty index managed to defend the 25,000 mark courtesy of the IT stocks, which were the only sectoral gainers.
The Sensex index is also up nearly 200 points, trying to hold the 81,800 mark. This comes on a crucial day, as India's largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), will be reporting results after market closing hours today, thereby kick-starting proceedings for the Q2 earnings season.
Some of the biggest gainers among the Nifty 500 stocks are Hindustan Copper, PG Electroplast, Jindal Saw, PTC Industries, GMDC, Usha Martin, and Granules, among others.
Along with TCS, Tata Elxsi and GM Breweries will also be reporting their results. Today is also the weekly options expiry of all BSE contracts.
