Stock Market Live Updates: After falling significantly, the Indian indices are now on the path to recovery. The Nifty index is trading with cuts of 120 points, below the 24,600 mark. The Sensex is also trading with a fall of close to 450 points, below the 81,000 mark.
Stock Market Live Updates: The Indian markets, after a feverish start, have now recovered from the lows of the day's opening. After witnessing a major fall, the Nifty index has recovered over 100 points from the lows and is now trading with cuts of about 100 points, returning to 24,600. The Sensex index is also trading with cuts of 350 points, trading above the 80,400 mark.
The index walks into the expiry session after a sharp sell-off on Tuesday. Not only did it close at a three-month low, but also below its 20-DMA of 24,737, a level it defended for a better part of the session, barring the final 30 minutes.
With this, the index has also given up all the gains for the August series. Donald Trump's additional 25% tariffs on Indian exports to the US has taken effect from Wednesday, taking the overall levy to 50%. Signals from White House officials on the future of the relationship has been mixed.
