Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are halfway through the first trading day of the month, and it has sunk to the day's low point. The Indian market has given up its resilience as the Nifty falls over 50 points, slipping to the 23,500 mark. The Sensex is also on the decline, dropping over 100 points. Tata Consumer, HUL and Bajaj Finance are under pressure.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are trading on a jittery note as Dalal Street kicks off the new month. The Nifty is trading largely flat after giving up opening gains. The 50-stock index is around 23,550. The Sensex is up about 200 points, trading around the 75,000 mark.
The Nifty is now back down to the key support level of 23,500, which it has not closed below since May 13.
Oil prices are rebounding this morning as well. A break below the 23,500 mark could open up further downside for the Nifty towards the May series low of 23,262.
The Nifty Midcap index has fallen from its highs to turn red and is now down over 200 points.
Nifty Bank is also trading in a similar territory with a minor uptick of 50 points.
A key level now on the downside will be 54,000. Banks and rate-sensitive like Autos, NBFCs, Real Estate will be in the spotlight through the week ahead of the RBI policy outcome on Friday. Keep an eye on Textile stocks, IndiGo, NMDC, IREDA, Glenmark and others, along with Auto sales figures.
