Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets look cautious after the avalanche of red yesterday. The Nifty index is moving higher and is aiming for the 23,100 mark. The Sensex index is up over 100 points, jumping to 73,700.

The 50-stock index needs to close above the 23,350 mark to post a weekly gain, whereas it closed even below the 23,100 mark on Thursday.

For the bulls, defending 23,100 on the downside will be key as they would not want the index to close below that level weekly, something that has not happened since March this year.

Analysts though, have warned that with the Nifty breaking key levels, there is a chance for the index to fall further to the 22,800 - 22,700 zone.

The major culprit behind Thursday's sell-off was the Nifty Bank and now the bulls there would want to ensure that it does not close below 55,000 on a weekly basis, something that hasn't happened since May this year.

Market-moving variables more or less remain the same. Bond yields have sold off further, with the 10-year now at 5.2% in the US, Brent remains near $106 and US Dollar remains stronger.
