The indices opened relatively flat, as the Indian markets started the day with caution amid uncertainties. The Nifty index opened at 25,134.15, higher than its previous day's closing. The Nifty index opened for the day's trade with a deficit of 1,143.2 points. The Sensex index also opened relatively quite at 82,473.02, higher than its previous day's closing.
United Spirits shares declined by over 5%, while Sula Wine and GM Breweries shares rose majorly after the Maharashtra government's decision to hike excise duty.
Caution continues, as global markets continue to await more clarity on the outcome of the US-China trade talks, even as officials from both countries continue to maintain a positive tone.
