The Nifty index heads into Tuesday's session, which happens to be the weekly expiry of the Sensex contracts, after another day of steep losses. The fact that the index closed near the lowest point of the day will also not please the bulls.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty 50 index has now declined over 550 points from last week's high, which was around the 25,250 mark. It heads into Tuesday's session, which happens to be the monthly expiry of the Sensex contracts, after another day of steep losses. The fact that the index closed near the lowest point of the day will also not please the bulls.
The fact that despite buying being seen in HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, the two heavyweights, the Nifty Bank still fell 450 points on Monday adds to the worries. Every recovery on the index is being swiftly sold into, with the Nifty making lower lows on the daily chart.
The broader markets are no different with extreme earnings reactions. For today's trade, the market may react to disappointing industrial production data, along with earnings and any follow-up moves in some already oversold IT stocks.
IndusInd Bank, Mazagon Dock, and Waaree Energies are some earnings reactions for the day, followed by stocks like Asian Paints, L&T, Amber Enterprises, Bank of India, and Varun Beverages, which are some stocks reporting results today. The June 13 low of 24,473 now holds the key for the Nifty, even if its still 200 points away.
