Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index is up about 25 points, trading below the 24,500 mark. The Sensex index is trading the 80,000 mark. Trent, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Shriram Finance and Asian Paints are among the major gainers. The 48th Reliance AGM is underway.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are moving on a volatile path, as the Nifty has vacillated from green to red, currently trading relatively flat, closing in on the 24,550 mark. The Sensex index is trading just below the 80,250 mark with gains of close to 150 points.
The 48th AGM started at 14:00 hours. Reliance Industries CMD Mukesh Ambani addressed Reliance shareholders.
In the larger market, the focus lies on the Nifty Auto sectoral index, as the index has fallen over 1%, or about 300 points. Here, Mahindra and Mahindra shares are down 3%.
In the broader market, the Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices, after being under pressure earlier in the day, are now outperforming the benchmark indices. The Nifty Midcap index has risen by nearly 0.50%, with the Nifty Smallcap index also trading in Green.
In the last four sessions, the Nifty declined nearly 600 points. The Nifty Bank is looking at a path of recovery as the index is up about 0.30%.
The other major factor today would be the Reliance Industries AGM, and the stock saw a sharp intraday recovery on Thursday ahead of the meeting, which is scheduled for 2 PM today.
