Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index is in green, trading closer to the 25,000 mark. The shares of Reliance is carrying the index along with it after Jio's rate tweak. The Sensex is up nearly 400 points.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index has hit the 25,000 mark and is currently trading just shy of the milestone mark, after making gains of about 100 points. The Sensex index is also on the rise after gaining close to 1% in the previous session, rising by nearly 400 points, moving towards 81,600.
When we look at the broader markets, the Nifty Banking index is trading with muted prospects, with gains of 102.00 points, above the 55,800 mark.
Meanwhile, the Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices are trading with gains, outperforming the marquee indices.
The Nifty Midcap 100 index is up 300 points; in addition, the smallcap index is also witnessing a rise of about 0.60%.
The shares of Reliance Industries are trading with gains of over 2% after Jio Telecom discontinued its cheapest plan.
Some of the biggest gainers at the Nifty 50 end include Tata Motors, Reliance, Adani Ports, Adani Enterprises and Bajaj Auto.
Today is also the weekly expiry of the Sensex contracts, which may add to some volatility.
Some of the biggest volume buzzers of the day's trade include Vardhman Textile, Ola Electric, Raymond Lifestyle, Inox Wind, and MRF, among others.
