Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd on Thursday reported a year-on-year increase in stainless steel sales for May 2025. However, sales declined 2% sequentially to 6,999 tonnes.
Average price realisations for stainless steel were down marginally by 0.2% year-on-year but improved 1% month-on-month to ₹1.37 lakh per tonne.
In the aluminium foil segment, sales rose sharply by 32% month-on-month and were up 1% year-on-year at 2,082 metric tonnes. Price realisations for aluminium foil increased 10% year-on-year but edged down 0.2% month-on-month to ₹3.68 lakh per metric tonne.
Shares of Shyam Metalics were trading at ₹866.15 on the BSE at last check, up 1.67% for the day.
Earlier in May, the company reported its fourth-quarter earnings for FY25. Consolidated net sales stood at ₹4,139.36 crore in the March quarter, up 14.78% from ₹3,606.20 crore in the same period last year.

Net profit rose marginally by 1.02% to ₹218.75 crore, while EBITDA increased by 15.56% to ₹569.41 crore from ₹492.73 crore in Q4 FY24.
