Former President Donald Trump, 78, has raised more than $160 million in September, with nearly all of it coming from small-dollar donations, according to his campaign announcement on Wednesday. Nearly 2.5 million donations, each under $200, made up 96% of the total contributions for the month, with the average donation amount being around $60.

With these September totals, Trump’s campaign now has $283 million in cash on hand, just over a month before the November 5 election.

“President Trump continues to inspire millions of everyday Americans to join his America First movement and help fuel the campaign with their hard-earned money,” Trump campaign Senior Advisor Brian Hughes said in a statement, as reported by the New York Post.

The September fundraising total exceeded the campaign's internal benchmarks and marked an increase from the $130 million raised in August.

“These supporters have allowed us to bank the funds we need as we move into the campaign’s final weeks,” Hughes added. “Our momentum continues to grow from supporters and donors across the country as we enter the homestretch toward victory.”

Despite Trump's strong fundraising efforts, Vice President Kamala Harris and her affiliated groups have outspent him in seven key swing states since President Biden suspended his re-election campaign in July.

According to the ad-tracking firm Ad Impact, Harris and her supporters have reserved a total of $301 million for future campaign ads in states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina, and Nevada.

In contrast, Trump and his allies have secured $194 million in airtime in those same states.

Additionally, the Harris campaign announced last month that it had nearly tripled Trump’s August fundraising, bringing in $361 million.

However, the Harris campaign has not yet released its September fundraising totals.
