After working late night in Parliament to pass Waqf Amendment Bill and a long second part of the Budget Session, one would expect any politician to take it easy for a week or two. But that is not the case for Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who will immediately start BJP’s poll preparations for the upcoming Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal elections.
Sources in the know suggest, starting this April, Shah will visit all these three states every month to formulate strategy and take stock of the situation. Shah is slated to spend two days each in these three poll-bound states every month, adds a source.
While Bihar election is scheduled end of this year, both West Bengal and Tamil Nadu elections are scheduled for 2026.
Sources privy to the development told News18 that Shah is slated to visit Bihar on April 30 and May 1. He recently visited Bihar where he held two separate meetings in Patna including one with the core group and later addressed a public rally in Gopalganj. News18 earlier reported how it was Shah who asked the Bihar BJP to focus on three issues for election – reviving talks about “Jungle Raj", revisiting scams of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and bringing them to public discourse and focus on BJPs commitment to build a grand temple for Ma Sita in Bihar.
Shah is also slated to visit Bengal and Tamil Nadu this month. In Tamil Nadu, he will be in Chennai for two days, say sources. Shah is slated to hold meetings with Tamil Nadu BJP and allies as well.
