Shares of Godrej Agrovet Ltd. fell as much as 8% on Friday, May 2, in reaction to its March quarter results. The stock is the top loser on the Nifty 500 index.

With Friday's drop, the stock is now down 20% from its 52-week high of ₹877, which it had hit in July last year.

For the March quarter, Godrej Agrovet's revenue, Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) and margins remained unchanged from the same quarter last year.

The company attributed the 24% growth in profitability from last year to the domestic crop protection business, the vegetable oil business and margin expansion in the animal feed business.

Godrej Agrovet's subsidiary Astec Lifesciences had another challenging year as it was severely impacted by continued demand-supply imbalances, volume headwinds and price corrections in both enterprise and contract manufacturing verticals.

Animal Feed margins remained flat during the quarter, while dairy segment margins fell due to increase in procurement prices.

Godrej Foods saw profitability being adversely impacted during the quarter due to subdued live bird prices compared to last year. Lower volumes of live bird category resulted in a decline in this segment revenue as well.

Out of the six analysts that have coverage on Godrej Agrovet, four of them still have a "buy" rating on the stock, while one analyst each has a "hold" and "sell" rating.

Shares of Godrej Agrovet are currently trading 7.7% lower post the results on Friday at ₹712.1. With this fall, the stock has reversed its gains for the year and is now down 4.1% in 2025 so far.
