Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex fell 610 points to 85,103 and the Nifty slipped 226 points to 25,961. The pain was deeper in the broader market, where the Midcap index dropped 1,107 points to 59,488, marking its biggest fall in four months. The Nifty Bank also declined 539 points to end at 59,239. All sectoral indices closed lower, with defence and realty stocks leading the losses.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The market began the week with a sharp, broad-based selloff on Monday, with major indices retreating and the pressure most acute in the broader markets. The Nifty failed to hold the 26,000 mark as 46 of its 50 constituents closed in the red, while BSE-listed companies collectively erased nearly ₹7 lakh crore in market capitalisation.

Individually, Bharat Dynamics, FACT, Godrej Properties and HUDCO were among the top midcap laggards, falling 5–6%. IndiGo slumped 9%, its biggest drop in four years, tracking developments related to the ongoing disruption in its operations. Fino Payments Bank fell over 12% despite receiving the RBI’s approval to transition into a small finance bank. Kaynes Technology extended its slide, dropping more than 30% over four sessions.

Eternal declined 3% after 0.5% equity changed hands through block deals, while Biocon slipped 3% after announcing the merger of its biologics unit in a $5.5 billion transaction. Life insurance stocks also ended lower following the November business data, with ICICI Prudential down 2%. On the positive side, Niva Bupa gained 3% after reporting a healthy business update for November, and Ashoka Buildcon rose 2% after securing an additional order worth ₹447 crore from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
