Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Benchmark indices rallied on Friday with the Sensex gaining 769 points to close at 81,721 and the Nifty rising 243 points to end at 24,853. The Nifty Bank gained 457 points to 55,398 while the Nifty Midcap index added 363 points to settle at 56,688.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Despite closing the week with negative returns, Indian equity markets staged a strong recovery in the final trading session. Both the Sensex and Nifty ended the week nearly 1% lower, with 35 of the 50 Nifty stocks posting losses. Stocks such as Grasim, Maruti, M&M, Eternal, and Sun Pharma were among the biggest drags on the benchmark index.
On the flip side, BEL, HDFC Life, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, and Jio Financial emerged as the top gainers. In the broader markets, Strides Pharma, Delhivery, Angel One, and Solar Industries led the midcap gainers’ pack.
