The family members met the District Collector and sought government intervention to bring the victim's body to perform the final rites.
An Indian worker in Kuwait died after being struck by falling debris from an Iranian missile on Monday (March 30). The victim, identified as Santhana Selvam, originally hailed from Tamil Nadu and had been working in Kuwait as an electrician for over ten years with an engineering and contracting firm.
After the incident came to light, the grieving family met with the District Collector to submit a formal petition. The family urgently sought government intervention to recover the victim’s body from the nation and facilitate its return to perform final rites.
Sanathan became the second Indian in Kuwait to die in an Iranian missile attack. A day before, another Indian national, who was working at a power and water desalination plant, died after an Iranian missile struck the plant.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water said in a post on X that the strike also damaged a service building at the facility, condemning it as a "sinful Iranian aggression" against the Gulf state. It added that technical and emergency response teams were dispatched immediately to contain the damage and ensure operations continued.
With the latest death, the toll of deceased Indian nationals in the Middle East war has reached to nine.
