Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Monday, September 15, said it has partnered with New Zealand’s The Warehouse Group (TWG) to drive the retailer’s next phase of digital transformation.
The collaboration will focus on simplifying TWG’s managed services, modernising its IT landscape, and strengthening workforce development through digital and AI upskilling, TCS said in a stock exchange filing.
Under the agreement, TCS will streamline and consolidate the technology platforms, helping New Zealand’s largest retail group to maximise value from existing investments across its retail value chain.
The initiatives aim to reduce technology debt, enhance platform standardisation, and improve service levels through robust governance and transparent reporting.
Mark Stirton, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Warehouse Group, said the partnership marks a crucial step in unlocking more value from the company’s technology investments.
"The partnership is estimated to reduce costs in licences and managed services by up to $40 million over five years and will help free up our technology teams to focus on what matters most, delivering more value for our customers, communities, and shareholders,” he said.
TCS will also support TWG’s workforce development with a focus on digital and AI skill-building.
“Leveraging our global expertise in retail technology, data and AI, we are committed to supporting one of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic retail brands in streamlining their systems and enhancing capabilities through AI adoption and thereby laying the foundation for sustained, long-term value creation," Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets, Tata Consultancy Services, said.
TCS said the partnership strengthens its presence in New Zealand, where it has been engaged in digital transformation and innovation across industries through its Co-Innovation Network. Additionally, TCS has been active in fostering digital talent in New Zealand through its flagship STEM programmes GoIT and GoIT Girl, it added.
Shares of TCS were trading 1.12% lower at ₹3,099 apiece on the BSE around 10.33 am.
