A teenager was rescued on Monday after being stuck for seven hours, dangling from a crane 36 storeys above Jerusalem. The 15-year-old boy had climbed up the crane in the early hours of the morning, reportedly to “see the view," according to Israel’s Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident took place around midnight when the boy scaled the crane, but he soon found himself trapped on a tiny platform, connected by metal cables to the crane’s hook.

Video footage from the scene shows the teenager hanging above a high-rise building, with his legs dangling in the air.

A passer-by noticed the boy around dawn and alerted authorities. Fire teams arrived at the site and began scaling the crane to reach the teenager. After several hours of effort, they successfully brought him to safety.

Eyal Cohen, a fire official with Israel’s Fire and Rescue Service, commented on the incident, calling it a “serious event that ended in a miracle." He noted that this was one of several cases in which young people have been caught scaling tall structures in the city.
