Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has started the online registrations for TN SET 2024 today, April 01. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET) on the official website at msutnset.com.
The application process for the TN SET 2024 will be open till April 31, 2024. The Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (SET) is a test conducted to check the suitability of candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in universities or colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The TS SET exam covers 45 different subjects and consists of two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Eligibility Criteria


If you've completed a Master's Degree or equivalent program from a university recognized by UGC with at least 55% marks, you're eligible to take the Test. For SC/ST/PwD/Third gender candidates, 50% marks suffice.
Candidates currently pursuing their Master's degree or awaiting results can apply provisionally. They must eventually pass their Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for specified categories) within two years from the TNSET result date.
Ph.D. holders completing their Master's before September 19, 1991, get a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%) for TNSET.
It's recommended to choose the subject of your Post-Graduation for the Test. If your subject isn't included in TNSET subjects, you may consider UGC-NET/joint CSIR-UGC Test.
Candidates with post-graduate diplomas/certificates from Indian or foreign universities should verify their equivalence with recognized Indian universities' Master's degrees through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
There's no upper age limit for TNSET applications.

Examination Pattern


The TNSET follows the UGC-NET pattern, comprising two papers.Paper I is common to all candidates, while Paper II is based on the candidate's chosen PG subject from the TNSET subject list. Both papers are in objective type with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, without breaks.Question papers are in English, except for Paper II in language subjects (Tamil, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Telugu, and Urdu).There are no negative marks for incorrect answers.
