Senior Hezbollah commander Sheikh Muhammad Ali Hammadi was shot dead in front of his house in eastern Lebanon, according to reports.
Hammadi died on the spot on Tuesday night as unidentified assailants opened fire and shot the senior Hezbollah official six times.
Ruling out any political angle, local reports claim that Hammadi was killed over a years-long family feud.
Hammadi was also on US federal agency's most-wanted list after he had hijacked a West German plane in 1985, torturing and killing an American national on the flight.
