President Donald Trump boarded Air Force One using a smaller staircase on Sunday, a move attributed to “increased security measures" at Palm Beach Airport, following the discovery of what officials described as a suspected sniper’s nest overlooking the runway.

According to Fox News, a White House official said that the heightened security came after the US Secret Service located a suspected hunting stand on Friday with a clear line of sight to the area where Air Force One typically lands and departs. The discovery, made during routine security preparations ahead of Trump’s arrival, prompted an immediate response from federal authorities.

“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within the sight line of the Air Force One landing zone," FBI Director Kash Patel said.

“No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities."

According to Fox News, no arrests have been made, and Patel said the structure has not yet been linked to any individual.

The discovery comes just weeks after Ryan Routh was convicted of attempting to assassinate Trump on a Palm Beach golf course from a sniper’s nest he had built along a fence line. The latest incident has reignited concerns over the former president’s security as he continues to make frequent trips to Florida.
