US President Donald Trump on Saturday claimed that the United States carried out a large-scale operation in Venezuela, resulting in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, who were flown out of the country.
In a statement, Trump said the operation was conducted in coordination with US law enforcement agencies and that further details would follow. Trump also announced a news conference at 11 am local time at Mar-a-Lago.
There has been no independent confirmation from Venezuelan authorities so far.
