The United Arab Emirates will host trilateral talks on the Ukraine war this week involving officials from Ukraine, the United States and Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Speaking after his address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Zelenskyy said the meetings would mark the first such trilateral engagement hosted by the UAE.
“It will be the first trilateral meeting in the Emirates. It will be tomorrow and the day after tomorrow," Zelenskyy said. He added that Moscow would need to show flexibility for progress to be made.
“Russians have to be ready for compromises," he said.
Zelenskyy did not provide details on the format of the talks or clarify whether Ukrainian and Russian officials would engage in direct negotiations.
