UltraTech Cement Limited said it has commissioned 8.7 MTPA of cement capacity across three grinding units, taking its total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity to 200.1 MTPA.
The newly commissioned units include a 2.7 MTPA grinding unit at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, a 3.0 MTPA unit at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and a 3.0 MTPA unit at Patratu in Jharkhand.
Following the expansion, the company’s consolidated global capacity stands at 205.5 MTPA, including 5.4 MTPA of overseas capacity.
UltraTech Cement ranks as the world’s largest cement company by sales volume and is also the largest single-country cement manufacturer globally, excluding China.
UltraTech plays a key role in India’s infrastructure ecosystem, contributing to one in every three homes, two out of every five kilometres of NHAI concrete roads, and four out of every five kilometres of metro rail projects in the country.
Alongside scale expansion, the company remains focused on sustainability, working to reduce CO₂ emissions per tonne, increase the use of alternative fuels and promote green construction practices.
On the NSE, UltraTech Cement shares closed at ₹11,867, up ₹41 or 0.35%, while the last traded price stood at ₹11,886, rising ₹60 or 0.51%.
