US Teacher Has Sex With Student Over 50 Times, Asks Court To Let Her Live Closer To Victim

Christina Formella, a 30-year-old teacher at Downers Grove South High School in Chicago, was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student over 50 times. In a bizarre turn of events, she requested to live closer to her alleged victim in court. The request, however, was denied.

Formella was charged with criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse last March. Since then, she has been handed an additional 52 charges in connection with the case.

According to a report by the New York Post, despite the gravity of the allegations, her husband and college sweetheart, Michael Formella, has stood by her side. He has even gone so far as to claim that his wife is being framed due to her appearance.

A witness recounted seeing Michael and Formella holding hands and smiling at each other throughout the incident, until Formella got up. The witness described their confidence.

Formella has been living with her parents at their £410,000 ($560,000) home on a golf course since mid-June. She has also been required to wear an ankle monitor.

Formella’s lawyers argue that the marital home is within a court-ordered 5,000ft buffer zone between her and the alleged 15-year-old victim. However, when at court, she requested that the distance be reduced to only 2,500ft.

If found guilty, Formella faces up to 60 years in prison. Prosecutor Jaclyn McAndrew previously stated that Formella had been grooming the boy since he was 14, luring him into a false sense of security and abusing him.
