A total of 16.86 lakh two-wheelers were sold in April 2025, which were up 11.84% from the previous month and gained 2.25% from April 2024.
India's vehicle retail sales gained 7.6% in April 2025 compared to the previous month at 22.87 lakh units, as per the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) data. This was also 3% higher than the year-ago period.
Of these, 16.86 lakh two-wheelers were sold in April 2025, which were up 11.84% from the previous month. This was also a 2.25% increase from April 2024.
Commercial vehicle sales witnessed a 4.44% decline in April 2025 from the previous month at 90,558 units. These also declined 1.05% decline from the year-ago period.
Meanwhile, India's vehicle retail sales fell 0.7% in March 2025 compared to the year-ago period, but increased 12% from the previous month. For the full financial year 2025, sales increased by 6.46%, FADA data stated. Rural areas had performed better than cities.
