Earlier this year, Vodafone Idea had said that the AGR dues of the company for the period from financial year 2006-2007 to financial year 2018-2019 will be frozen and paid in installments starting March 2026. More details on that here.

Vodafone Idea's license fee may drop between 60% to 65% after the reassessment exercise by the Department of Telecom, sources with knowledge of the matter told CNBC Awaaz.

Sources have added further that the DoT has completed the license fee reassessment by all the concerned Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA). The DoT had directed the reassessment to be completed by February 22.

Post this, the spectrum usage charge assessment still needs to be completed, which sources believe, is likely to be completed by March 31.

A committee set up by the Department of Telecom, under the leadership of a retired IAS officer, will take the final decision.

Vodafone Idea's pending AGR dues are inclusive of license fees and Spectrum Usage Charges (SUC).

After the initial spike seen after the newsbreak, shares of Vodafone Idea are trading 0.9% higher on Thursday at ₹10.09.
