schedule for schools in West Bengal has been announced, incorporating adjustments to accommodate the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Across different districts, schools will observe an extended closure period, leading to a total extension of 12 days for the vacation.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal are scheduled to be conducted over seven phases.
In response, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has meticulously arranged the
school holiday calendar
to align with the electoral process.
List of holidays for primary schools
Educational institutions in Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri districts are scheduled to remain closed from April 16 to 20. Similarly, in districts like Darjeeling, Kalimpong, North Dinajpur, and South Dinajpur, schools will observe closure from April 24 to 27. During these specified periods, all academic activities will be suspended.
List of holidays for secondary schools
The summer vacation for West Bengal schools in 2024 is set to commence on May 6. It will continue until June 2, providing a total of 22 days of holiday, excluding public holidays and Sundays. During this period, schools will be closed, allowing students and teachers ample time for rest and relaxation.
