Union Minister Giriraj Singh accuses Rahul Gandhi of "napak" ties with Pakistan after reports of mangoes from the Pakistan Embassy, sparking a political row

Union Minister Giriraj Singh sparked a controversy on Wednesday by accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of having “napak” (impure) ties with Pakistan. This allegation follows reports that the Pakistan Embassy sent mangoes to Gandhi and several other Lok Sabha MPs.

“Some time ago, Rahul Gandhi said he doesn’t like mangoes from Uttar Pradesh. Now, the Pakistan Embassy has sent mangoes to him. He should clarify what else he likes. Did he go to Pakistan to ask for help in removing Modi?” Singh said.

He suggested that Gandhi’s recent criticisms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were attempts to solicit support from Pakistan to oust the current NDA government. He further questioned, “Rahul Gandhi should tell if he has gone to Pakistan to ask for anything to remove Modi.” The Leader of the Opposition has yet to respond to this controversy.

“In Bangladesh, Pakistan-backed Jamaat-e-Islami terrorists are burning Hindu houses and temples and here Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Sibal, Iqra Chaudhary, Mohibullah Nadvi, Zia Barq, Afzal Ansari are sucking the mangoes sent by Pakistan,” the Union Minister wrote on social media platform X.

“They did not like the mangoes of Uttar Pradesh and neither are they able to hear the pain of Hindus of Bangladesh,” he added. BJP MP Anurag Thakur also weighed in, saying, “They are receiving mangoes from the place their heart lies. He doesn’t like the mangoes of UP, but seems excited about the mangoes from Pakistan.”
