Meta wants to bring famous people to add their voices for its AI chatbot

Meta AI chatbot is available on WhatsApp for users in India and other regions but the voice mode is expected to take the feature one step further.

WhatsApp has added Meta AI chatbot which is already a big hit in countries like India. And the messaging app is working on giving the AI chatbot a voice which could have multiple options for a personalised touch. ChatGPT has introduced voice mode, and even Google’s Gemini AI has a voice avatar so it is vital that WhatsApp also got one from Meta. Now, it has been reported that Meta AI could have voices borrowed from famous personalities and public figures which makes people feel a lot more immersive during the conversations.

The details come via the ever-reliable WaBetaInfo, who says the feature as a whole is currently in the testing phase and should hit the beta stage in the coming weeks.

The tipster also mentions that the Meta AI voice mode will support different pitch, accent and other customisations. We still don’t know if Meta will sign up with popular Hollywood actors for the public voices like Amazon did for Alexa but a similar arrangement cannot be ruled out from the Mark Zuckerberg run company.

Meta AI is available as a chatbot on the main feed and you can activate it by tapping on the Blue halo icon next to the new chat button. You also get the Meta AI search bar at the top of the feed on Android and iOS devices. We have been using the Meta AI chatbot for our purposes and the tests have shown us the versatility of the tool which will only get better with voice support.

The voice mode will work through the same chatbot and the early impressions of the feature suggests Meta will be utilising the power of the Llama 3 AI model to give you smart and swift responses. Amazon’s Alexa push has derailed and its latest premium AI service will have few takers. Meta has a great window to charge up and get more users on board for its service.
