Kshitij Tyagi, Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, has garnered attention for his fiery speech at the UN, where he condemned Pakistan as a “failed state" that survives on “international handouts".
At the high-level segment of the 58th Regular Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday, Tyagi delivered a sharp retort to Pakistan after it raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) at the multilateral global organisation.
Tyagi further criticised Pakistan’s leaders and delegates, saying that it’s “regrettable" to see how they continue to “dutifully spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex."
Who Is Kshitij Tyagi?
Kshitij Tyagi is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from the 2012 batch. According to his LinkedIn profile, Tyagi is currently serving as Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, a role he has held since January this year. Prior to this, he served as the First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in Geneva for a year.
Tyagi holds a Master of Technology in Thermal Energy and Environmental Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.
