Mara Corina Machado, who won the Nobel prize for peace 2025, is a prominent Venezuelan politician, industrial engineer, and human rights advocate, recognised as a leading figure in the country's democratic opposition. Born on October 7, 1967, in Caracas, she is the eldest daughter of psychologist Corina Parisca and businessman Henrique Machado Zuloaga.
Machado holds a degree in industrial engineering from Andrs Bello Catholic University and a master's degree in finance from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA) in Caracas.
