The Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is scheduled to close down the extended registration window for

NEET MDS 2024

today, March 11. Eligible candidates are advised to complete their application process for the Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) by 11:55 PM today on the official website at natboard.edu.in.
Candidates should take note that the NBEMS has reaffirmed that the NEET MDS 2024 examination will take place on March 18, with admit cards being issued three days prior to the exam.

As the extended registration deadline approaches, some aspirants are requesting a postponement of the exam to July, urging the authorities to consider their plea. According to sources, NEET MDS aspirants have filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a postponement of the exam. The matter is scheduled to be heard on March 15, the same day when the MDS admit cards are expected to be released. However, there is no official confirmation available on this matter.

Previously, a group of aspirants had filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking the postponement of the NEET MDS 2024 exam to July. In its hearing, the Supreme Court had directed the Centre to decide expeditiously on the representation regarding the NEET MDS 2024 exam. However, even after the court's directive, the Centre remained indecisive for nearly two weeks.

Nevertheless, on March 08, the NBE made the decision to extend the

internship completion cut-off

date to June 30. This decision was influenced by requests from students whose internship deadlines had been extended beyond the previous cut-off date of March 31. As a result, the NEET MDS registration window will be reopened for candidates completing their internships between April 1 and June 30.
The All India Student's Union (AISU), having previously corresponded with both the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health, expressed appreciation for the Board of Examinations' decision to extend eligibility until June 30, 2024. Nevertheless, they persist in their call for an extension of eligibility until September 31, 2024, citing the potential benefit for an additional 4000-5000 students. Additionally, they advocate for rescheduling the NEET MDS exam to July to allow ample time for adequate preparation.
