He stated, "We uphold justice and fairness and oppose hegemony and power politics," positioning SCO members as partners, not rivals. A key proposal from China was the creation of an SCO development bank and a new center to address security challenges. The summit also saw a meeting between the leaders of Russia, India, and China, described as the 'RIC movement'. An expert, Ambassador Anil Trigunayath, characterized this as a 'non-Western alternative' rather than an anti-West bloc. Discussions also touched upon India's concerns regarding its trade deficit with China and the issue of cross-border terrorism. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries are also expected to adopt a decade-long development strategy.
