YouTube Premium is getting a new two-person plan in select regions.
YouTube Premium comes for a single user, students or for a family. But now the video streaming platform is offering a 2-person Premium plan that is available if you are yet to pay the company to block ads and get other benefits.
YouTube has highlighted the need to keep ads on the platform, which it claims helps the company pay the content creators. But if you are annoyed with ads like millions, YouTube has more than one way to block them and get other features for a monthly or a yearly fee.
YouTube Premium For 2-Person Plan: How It Works And Price
The new plan was spotted in a Moneycontrol report this week, and we could independently verify its availability by checking through a non-Premium YouTube account. The new plan is listed right next to the individual, family and the student YouTube Premium plan when you go to sign for the service on the platform.
The two-person plan is priced at Rs 219 per month and you get a 1-month trial of this for free. YouTube says the two-person plan will work when you add one more member above 13 years from your household.
The company says you also have the option to add a new member to join the Google family group which is essential to be eligible for the new YouTube Premium plan. “Both members must be age 13 or older, have a Google Account, and reside in the same household as the family manager. Two-person subscriptions are available in select countries," YouTube explains on its support page.
YouTube ads are a nuisance and the company says get the Premium version to stop seeing ads, play video in the background and even access the YouTube Music catalogue on mobile or web.
