Patel took the oath on the Bhagavad Gita in the Indian Treaty Room at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. A staunch Trump loyalist who has previously called for retribution against the President’s critics, he pledged to protect Americans from threats while emphasising his cultural heritage.
Patel, born in New York on February 25, 1980, traces his roots to Bhadran village in Gujarat’s Anand district, from where his family migrated to Uganda 70 to 80 years ago. In the first Trump administration, he held key positions at the Office of the Director of Intelligence and the Defence Department.

An avid car enthusiast, Patel boasts a collection of over fifteen vintage and modern luxury vehicles, with his most recent purchase being a Lamborghini Urus. He also drives a Tesla and a Mercedes S-Class, according to a report.
His net worth includes $7 million worth of stocks in Tesla.
Further, his real estate portfolio is believed to be massive, amounting to the sum of $12 million. He also earned significant profits from trading Bitcoin.
