Adani Green Energy shares: Margin fuels the sharpest rally in over a month

Shares of Adani Green Energy opened strong at ₹1,029.95 on the BSE, up 2.5% from the previous close of ₹1,004.55, and gained further momentum through the session to hit an intraday high of ₹1,145.

This is the second rally of over 11% since September 21. Still, the stock is trading about 40% above its 52-week low of ₹758, reflecting renewed investor confidence in the counter. However, it still remains well below its 52-week high of ₹1,733.85.

Adani Green Energy’s market capitalisation has crossed ₹1.72 lakh crore

In a stock exchange filing on Tuesday, Adani Green Energy reported a jump of 111.2% year-on-year (YoY) in its net profit to ₹583 crore, aided by a one-off tax writeback of ₹213 crore.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 17.4% to ₹2,603 crore, with margins expanding sharply to 86.5% from 73.8%, compared to a year earlier.

Revenue remained largely flat at ₹3,008 crore versus ₹3,005 crore in the same quarter last year.

The quarter, however, was impacted by weak solar trends, lower merchant realisations, and limited grid availability. Total capex incurred in the first six months of the financial year stood at ₹12,400 crore, up 26% (YoY).

The company’s total renewable energy portfolio stands at 16.7 GW, up 49% YoY, while projects worth ₹14,029 crore are under construction. The value of operational assets is pegged at ₹62,042 crore.

Adani Green remains on track to achieve its 50 GW target by FY30 (CAGR 28%).

Between April and Septemebr 2025, the company added 5.5 GW, including 2.4 GW of greenfield capacity across Khavda, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh, representing 74% of the total FY25 additions.

The flagship Khavda project, with a planned capacity of 30 GW by 2029, now has 7.1 GW operational.

Adani Green incurred ₹28,366 crore in capex in the first half of the financial year ending March 2026, up 129% (YoY), adding ₹11,609 crore to the net debt by the end of September.
