Renowned African-American actress and singer Mary Millben on Sunday greeted India and the fellow citizens on the occasion of the country’s 76th Republic Day and joined the virtual global celebration by singing Anthem.
“To His Excellency @narendramodi, Her Excellency @rashtrapatibhvn, the Indian Allied Forces, my beloved India, and Indian communities across the world, Happy 76th Republic Day! Let’s sing together!" she said.
Millben has been a supporter and well-wisher of India and has been lauding PM Modi’s efforts to bring peace as a world leader.
She is the singer who performed the Indian national anthem at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC in 2023. Following her performance, she touched the feet of PM Modi to seek his blessings, attracting huge media attention.
Millben previously performed at the 2020 Diwali celebrations where she performed Om Jai Jagdish Hare.
A former White House Presidential Appointee to George W Bush, Millben has performed for world leaders and three US presidents – Barack Obama and Donald Trump. The singer has used her music as a tool to promote peace and friendship globally.
India’s 76th Republic Day Celebrations
As the nation comes together to celebrate the pride and spirit of Republic Day today (January 26), Kartavya Path in the heart of the capital will host a grand parade showcasing India’s strength and unity.
The parade will feature contingents from the Indian Armed Forces and paramilitary forces, with a total of 18 marching units, 15 bands, and 31 tableaux on display. It will begin at 10:30 am.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest for the occasion. At least 10,000 special guests have been invited from across the country and a total of 7,70,000 passes and tickets have been issued.
