Donald Trump and Elon Musk
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has deleted his X post, claiming that US President Donald Trump’s name was mentioned in the files related to sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein, which is why his administration has yet to release them.
The bombshell allegation came after Musk and Trump engaged in a shocking public feud following the Tesla boss’ criticism of the White House’s $4 trillion tax and spending bill. “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT," Musk said on Thursday.
In another post on X, Musk stated, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out." In response to Elon Musk’s post, the Democrats, too, demanded that the list be released.
House Democrats have asked the Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate Elon Musk’s claim that President Trump is named in the Jeffrey Epstein files, Axios has learned. However, FBI chief Kash Patel has so far refused to comment on the feud as well as Trump’s connection with Epstein.
Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier with deep connections to global elites, including politicians, royalty, academics, and business tycoons. He was first investigated in 2005 in Florida for allegedly sexually abusing underage girls. He was arrested on sex trafficking charges in 2019.
Epstein died in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial. His death was officially ruled a suicide, though many continue to suspect foul play given the powerful individuals potentially implicated.
Trump and Musk engaged in a heated spat on Thursday after Musk publicly condemned Trump’s $4 trillion “big, beautiful bill" as a “disgusting abomination". Musk accused Trump of “ingratitude", while the president threatened to cut Musk’s government contracts.
Trump said Musk had been “wearing thin," that he had “asked him to leave" his administration, that the tech titan had “gone CRAZY." Maybe, Trump threatened, he should save taxpayer money by cancelling government contracts and subsidies for Musk’s companies.
