Former Afghan MP Mariam Solaimankhil condemned the “cowardly" Pakistani airstrikes along the Durand Line last night that breached a 48-hour ceasefire and killed at least 10 people in Afghanistan, following days of bloody border clashes.

Pakistan launched fresh airstrikes inside Afghanistan last night, killing at least 10 people as border hostilities escalated sharply. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday said three Afghan cricketers were killed in Pakistan’s Paktika province, after which it withdrew from a scheduled T20 tri-series with Pakistan and Sri Lanka that was scheduled to begin on November 17.

Speaking to NDTV from the United States, Solaimankhil blamed Pakistan’s military for “systematic terrorism" in the region and launched a scathing attack on Field Marshal Asim Munir for “breeding terrorists for decades".

“This is the same pattern of violence the ISI and the Pakistan Army have unleashed for decades from India to Afghanistan. But to see young cricketers, babies, and mothers being killed, it’s heartbreaking," she said.

In a message to Asim Munir, Solaimankhil said, “You reap what you sow. For decades, you’ve bred terrorists and used them as weapons. Don’t be surprised when the fire you started burns your own home."

Ex-Afghan MP Praises India For Support

The former Afghan MP came out in support of India, linking the cross-border aggression to the recent visit of Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi to India. “Whenever Afghanistan moves closer to India, our brotherly, historic partner, it threatens Pakistan’s military establishment. Their entire economy thrives on war and destruction. They cannot tolerate peace between Afghans and Indians," she told NDTV.

She also called for stronger for India-Afghanistan cooperation against the “extremist ideology born in Rawalpindi" and praised India for providing support to the Afghan people for years, regardless of political changes. Solaimankhil also accused Pakistan of running “a propaganda machine full of trolls" to justify civilian killings under the guise of anti-TTP operations.

This came after India reacted to the escalating conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, accusing Pakistan of hosting terrorist organisations, blaming its neighbours for internal failures, and being angered by Afghanistan asserting sovereignty over its own territory.

Reaffirming New Delhi’s stance, the Ministry of External Affairs added that India remains fully committed to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of Afghanistan.

The violence between Pakistan and Afghanistan escalated dramatically last weekend as the Taliban’s foreign minister began a visit to India. Forces from both countries engaged in fierce fighting on the ground, while Islamabad also launched airstrikes along the contested border, with both sides claiming dozens of casualties.

Pakistan has accused the Taliban-led government of not doing enough to control militants, particularly the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who have intensified attacks within Pakistan and are allegedly being given shelter. In response, Kabul has rejected the accusations, stating that Pakistan is responsible for its own security.
