Hours after Hafiz Saeed’s aide on Sunday morning, buzz swirled about the fate of Saeed, one of the founders of the terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba.
While there were unconfirmed reports of his injuries, there were indications that he was safe.
An official confirmation on Saeed being injured was awaited.
Notably, Qatal played a key role in multiple attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and was the mastermind behind the January 2023 attack in Rajouri, within the Union Territory.
He was also accountable for the 9 June attack on a bus carrying pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.
Meanwhile, Saeed, who co-founded the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group, is on the Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most wanted list.
